Picnics:
Burge is a unique place to host your company outings. Founded in 1809 and six generations later still operated by the same family, it is steeped in history. It has seen the days of king cotton, the terror of Sherman's march to the sea, and the reconstruction era when it was totally managed by a remarkable African American couple for the benefit of four orphaned children. Since then it has been operated by tenant farmers, a dairy, row cropping and now a private shooting club.

Our mission is to offer truly professional service. This begins with an advance planning session between our staff and the host's representative. The day of the event is managed from start to finish by our staff that orchestrate and facilitate all activities as requested by host.

Our goal is to provide an atmosphere conducive to team building among employees and friendly interaction among their families regardless of age. With your guidance we want the people important to you to have a great time.
The Setting:
The setting is the beautiful grounds and formal gardens around the Main House at Burge which include:
- Two covered pavilions (total seating 225)
- Indoor Conservatory with large covered outdoor brick patio (seats 75 people inside - Air-conditioned, Covered patio also seat 75 and be enlosed with outdoor curtains - Central Air)
- Swimming Pool
- Softball Field
Activities:
Activities may include games for adults as well as children:
- Softball
- Volleyball
- Croquet
- Horse Shoes
- Fishing
- Swimming Pool (no lifeguard)
- Tours of the Main House and Attic Museum
- Burge Way (Nature Walk)
- Hay Rides
The day's activities are often concluded for the kids with a Candy Scramble followed by a Hay Ride for all ages to the 150-year-old log cabin in the middle of the farm.

Group Size:
We have found that parties of any size up to 250 people work best. We have ample parking for cars and busses contiguous to the picnic grounds.
Location:
Burge is an easy 50 minute drive from downtown Atlanta, east on I-20 past Covington. Maps will be provided.
Rates:
Pricing is charged according to the meal, which you choose. Typically we can produce a fabulous day with food, soft drinks and entertainment for $16 - $35 per person plus 7% sales tax and 20% gratuity. Children under 12 are half price and 5 and under are free.
Terms:
Call for 1/3 payment upon signing a contract, 1/3 30 days prior to the date reserved and 1/3 day of event. In the event of cancellation more than 90 days out we will refund 75% of the deposit. Less than 90 days the deposit is forfeited.
