Dear Sandy, Betsy, Neely and the entire Burge family,
I can not begin to put in words how magnificent Jenny and Tom's wedding was and how pleased we were. We wanted good taste and quality, without being showy or glitzy, and although I don't like to use the word perfect, that is what the friends have been saying.
Some people drove themselves to Burge, but the majority took the buses, which actually worked very well. I think the new Mr and Mrs Rowland found great pleasure in sharing their first married breakfast together with the rest of us at the Sunday morning brunch before heading off to the airport.
You certainly offered us a variety of options as to location of the ceremony and size of the wedding. The tent for the seated dinner and dancing fit right in and easily held our 250 guests, while still leaving plenty of other cocktail areas outside the tent. I can't give accolades enough for Neely and her calm, knowledgeable expertise with the planning details from the Burge end. I will miss her now that we are history only.
What joy it brings to write with our appreciation for your sharing Burge hospitality with us. If prospective weddings need ever ask "how was it really?", do not hesitate to tell them to call.

My daughter got married May 3, 2008 at Burge Plantation. It was a fairytale wedding experience!!! On Friday night we had a bar-b-que rehearsal dinner, the morning of the wedding we had a brunch followed by the guys playing football while the bridesmaids had their makeup and hair done. The wedding was outside at dusk, and the reception was under a tent. The people at Burge were wonderful and made the whole experience easy and fun. I can not say enough about what a wonderful day it was. The food was fabulous, the chef is great and was willing to do anything I wanted. I recommend Burge to everyone!!!

Just a little note to say a huge thank you to everyone for making Jennifer and Brian's "special day" such a great success and a day they have always wished for. Andrew, the compliments on the appetizers and on the meal were overwhelming. The wedding soup was exceptional as was stated by the "seasoned" Italian guests. Dawn, you really worked hard and your efforts succeeded in making the day go off like clockwork with everything going as scheduled with no apparent glitches, if there were, no one noticed. I just wanted to write and thank you for making our wedding so wonderful!!! Everything turned out perfect, even with a little rain! JYou and your staff were amazing to work with and Bryce & I enjoyed every minute of it. We have had sooooo many compliments on the food. You all have an absolutely gorgeous place there and it was the ideal setting for our southern elegance wedding! Neely, I cannot begin to express my gratitude for the exceptionally well done reception you and your staff orchestrated for Elise and Johnny. From the quality and presentation of the food to the table placement on the lawns, from the positive energy of the servers and bartenders to the unyielding attention to the guests, all were superb. Not a detail was missed. Responses from numerous guests have served to echo my own feelings about the evening. I was also impressed with how hard I saw you and Andrew working, both assessing the "room" constantly to ensure that the evening went flawlessly, and it did. Of course, Band of Gold, your recommendation, put the final exclamation on the evening.
